Everything you need to know & FAQ’s

What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are individual synthetic lashes (also available in true Syberian Mink) professionaly applied to a single natural lash. These are NOT cluster lashes or strips purchased at drug stores! They look and feel completely natural, leaving everyone wondering...are those real?

Will eyelash extensions damage my natural lashes?

That is an excellent question to ask. The answer is no, not if applied correctly. We have seen many client's lashes actually recuperate and become healthier from wearing lash extensions after damage done by cluster and strip lashes. On the other hand, we have also seen lashes destroyed by incorrect application! Take care of your lashes and absolutely no damage will be done by lash extensions!

Can I still wear makeup?

Yes! Just be careful to only use oil-free makeup and lotions as oil will break down the adhesive. Wearing mascara is not recommended on a daily basis but specific water-based mascara is available for special occasions. Only apply to the extension tips. Note that there is no proper way to removed the mascara once it has been applied to the extensions.

How long do they last?

After the initial full set, touch ups, or fills, are needed once every 3 to 4 weeks. This is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, your natural growth cycle and your after care maintenance. On average, you shed 1 to 4 lashes per day. After 3 weeks, approximately half of your lashes have shed and been replaced by new mature lashes that are ready for an extension!

What should I do before my appointment?

Please do not wear any eye makeup. The adhesive will only bond to nice clean lashes! Do not drink too much caffeine because you will be lying still. Remember that you cannot get the extensions wet for 24 hours. If this is your first appointment, arrive a few minutes early so we can do your consultation.

Can the extensions be removed?

Yes they can. But please do not try to do this yourself. There is a professional strength remover used to break down the adhesive quickly, efficiently and safely.

Can anyone get eyelash extensions?

Unfortunately not. It may not be a good idea to get lashes if you experience severe seasonal allergies causing itchy-watery eyes, if you habitually pick, pull or rub your lashes, or if you have a recent eye injury. We are unable to apply extensions on anyone with an eye disease.

Can I swim, shower, and exercise with the extensions?

Of course, but please wait 24 hours before getting the extensions wet. Also, chlorine is not very friendly towards the adhesive.
